– Elul 1 (The beginning of the 40 days of repentance before Yom Kippur and
begins the 40 days Yeshua spent in the wilderness, tempted by HaSatan)
Our family
was living in an apartment or condo. We were all standing outside watching a
big wave that was headed right toward us. This was strange because we did not
live on the beach. We were not afraid. We all stood together, close to our
apartment building, watching it come closer and closer, and felt pretty
confident it would not affect us, as there was a point in the distance where
waves had always broken before and never came past. But this time it kept
coming, and it didn’t stop. By the time the wave finally got to us the water
was only an inch deep, but we were very surprised with how close it came. It
stopped just inches short of our apartment building.
What does
it mean?
The wave:
We were not living on a beach. The wave could represent invading armies, civil
unrest, terrorism, financial collapse, martial law, or any number of
calamities. The wave symbolically represents the coming tribulation.
The
apartment building or condo: We have lived in houses for the last 28 years. The
condo may represent like-minded believers living in communities similar to
Goshen or a camp of the righteous.
Although
the “wave” came closer than we ever expected and we were surprised, it did
not overtake us. – SHALOM!
